Marillion - Welcome to the wonderful world of this awesome band. May I humbly recommend Neverland or The Invisible Man as an insight into what they are all sbout.

2:36 Marillion used to be on my list of favourite bands until I got into heavier bands but still listen to them occasionally. I wasn’t aware of this one so it’s new to me as well!

What a band, i am a big fan since 1988

The music is Ukrainian, composed by Mykola Leontovych in 1914. In 1936, American composer Peter Wilhousky added English lyrics to the song and renamed it "Carol of the Bells." Perhaps we can keep those brave citizens in that country of it's origin in our thoughts as they battle not only the massive country attempting to suppress them, but the cold winter they are forced to endure by the destruction of their homeland. Beautiful version of this beautiful song by an incredibly talented band. Happy Holidays to all!!

I've always been a big fan of Marillion, but somehow this one escaped me.

Thanks for doing this one, Jynger! It's already Christmas at this side of the ocean and this is my favorite traditional Christmas song. I love this band and I love all the nonsense in this video. I have a feeling that I know what's coming tomorrow and I'm looking forward to that very much! The best way to end this great week! Have a wonderful Christmas weekend!

Ah, bit did you enjoy this bit of holiday fluff enough to want to listen to more Marillion, the greatest band, by far, among bands who hardly anybody has ever heard about. Many who do know the name still think that Derek Dick is still the lead singer. If you do check them out, stay with the post-1988 material, and always, always, always choose a live performance video. Let me be your guide:

And about 50 other songs just as amazing in their own right, sung by the incomparable Steve Hogarth, one of, if not the best, male vocalists in the world.
