Great advice as always! Don’t be afraid of the weight. Fight that iron! Your body is stronger than you think and will give back to you if you make it work :)

I prefer to learn good técnic, then increase weight, instead of being doing it wrong. Thanks for that tip😊

Thank you for this! I use resistance bands and was wondering if I was not using the right bands. I did 15 pounds last night with slight force, but went through my reps with little problems. I will try 20 Saturday.

I can do bicep curl to press (2 sets) with 15 LBS nicely. I tried with 17.5 LBS and was able to do one set of 10 and one set of 5. Slowly I will work up to being able to do it with 20 LBS. Eventually I will get there.

That’s what I been doing lately. Also heard about this from the Juice & Toya podcasts (not sure if you heard of them). That’s why I currently now use 30 lb dumbbells for strength training, 35 lbs for drop set strength training, and 40 lbs for single kettlebell exercises. For double kettlebell exercises I currently use two 35 lb kettlebells, but I have yet to invest in another 40 lb or 45 lb kettlebell. Most likely a 45 lb kettlebell 😊

Yes, I lift enough. Yesterday, as a 64 old man, I deadlifted 170 kg (374.45 lb).

I've always enjoyed your perspective. But I have a philosophical question. How much weight is enough? What is the goal of ALWAYS increasing for the sake of building strength? What if you're 60 yo, a history of musculoskeletal problems, scoliosis, and currently doing goblets with 80 lbs 3x10. Do i really need to increase weight? If so, why? It seems to me the more weight I add and the older someone gets, the get closer to their failure point. Even when you use safe principles.

Would you ever recommend doing reps till mechanical failure. For eg I can do 15 kg lunges for 12 reps and my max would be about 20. Why not instead of progress the weight up , do more reps ?

How many times a week would you work each body part? 2 or 3?

So I went from 65 RDL to 95 RDL, I'm suddenly having knee pain. Not during the exercise but after. I can move the weight fine, but now my knees ache. Should I drop the weight.

But doesnt heavy build bulk? I would like lean, like Barre type muscles.
