5:55 It's not consumed. You don't lose the item, but you lose legendary potential and get a shard. If you lose legendary potential on an item, you still keep the item and you can use Nemesis system to gamble for more legendary potential or random affixes.

Some corrections:
At 4:30 - "Tombs will allow you to use the Woven Enchanter once, Cemeteries twice, and some Woven Echoes may allow you to use it up to four times." - EHG blogpost
At 6:15 - It does not consume the item if it fails. It just resets the Legendary Potential to 0. That way, you can put it into Nemesis eggs again since Nemesis eggs only accept uniques with zero legendary potential.

When Talking about Loot and Crafting one thing gets often overlooked: The fact that LE drops items IDENTIFIED. Meaning they can be read by loot filters (that you customize however you want) and get those items and affixes that you care about highlighted while hiding the ones you don't care about. This is first of all a huge time saver in-between maps/echoes and second of all it incentives Crafting. Unidentified items are such an antiquated system that has no place in modern ARPGs.

I really hope that GGG takes notes on making a good crafting system for PoE2. Last Epoch crafting just always feels good man as you feel like you have agency and don't have to worry too much about trash drops as you just filter for affixes and break them down to create your own god tier items.

PoE2 Season start was a huge win for LE. Extremely smart decision for them to delay it for people to explore and unfortunately be disappointed by the league start on PoE for them to be more excited about LE

One of my favourite Crafting Systems even got better. Nice. LE was the first ARPG I've approached in a SSF way. You feel the constant progression up to a point where I was able to clear the Content and that in a good amount of time as a regular player. It's awesome.
