this is such a cool idea, you're really fun and I learn a lot from watching your videos, literally my betta went from a vase to a ten gal tank, with water conditioner, amazon swords, dwarf hairgrass carpet, fortnightly water changes-- but I just CANNOT understand how to get my co2 set up, I know I watched this but I'd LOVE an indepth tutorial for complete newbs.

DIY : still need to buy co2 stuff🤪 filling a tank with real co2 costs around €18.- here and is usable for 6months.

But buying a full set costs more.

Ive had good results with the Aquario Neo CO2 kit. its a sugar/yeast reaction instead, which means you can't turn it off, but I've been having good results with it. I just run an airstone at night, and that seems to gas off enough CO2

you have exactly the same kit as me. I really love it. I used 200g of citric acid and 250g baking soda last time because that proportion is closer to 1 and 3 mols, respectively (so the reaction is balanced). I will be able to tell you the results next week when the bottles get empty if you are interested in optimizing the reaction.

BTW, squeezing the bottles is harder than he showed in the video hahaha. What I do is first squeeze the baking soda bottle until most of the air is removed, then squeeze the citric acid bottle hard to get a large amount of citric acid into the baking soda bottle and let the pressure go up.

Don't forget to get your hands wet!!! :)
