Cudi using a sample from Band of Horses was one of the best things he could’ve done for a song like this. The Funeral by them is one of the most beautiful melodic songs I’ve ever heard in my life. It’s one of the saddest, but the melody of that song is beautiful. And Cudi sampling that song and adding his own beautiful melody to it just made this song a masterpiece. Cudi is a musical genius and he’s not given the credit he fully deserves and it’s a shame.

The melody slowly fading to Day ‘n’ Nite at the end is phenomenal. Perfect example of how just a few notes can change the whole meaning of a song, it takes the beautiful dreamlike melody of this song and contrasts it with the cold, very real melody of day n nite. Almost like waking from a dream and coming back to reality.

Ik this’ll sound real corny and lame but I have this as my closing song on my Kid Cudi playlist for obvious reasons but the transition into Day N Nite at the end is so symbolic to me.

I loved Day N Nite ever since I was a kid. Always looking forward to hearing it on the radio in my dads car or in my house and eventually not hesitating to add it to my playlist when I got my first phone. Never did I know how much of an impact Cudi would have on my life all these years later.

I’m a fairly new Kid Cudi listener only recently getting into his music a few months ago and I don’t think I’ve ever had an artist and person I related to so much more than him. He’s single handedly saving my life rn. I’m at a point where I’ve never felt more lost and lonely and whenever I turn to his music and I instantly feel comforted and understood. Like a big brother looking out for me as I try and navigate in this weird world. And whenever I hear that transition at the end it just reminds me on the life changing journey I’ve had with him all these years.

I can’t thank Scott enough for his impact on my life man, it’s been a great experience. Hope to see u live next year my goat

I still remember it well when I heard the song for the first time. It was a hard time for me because I went to a children's home after my mother attempted suicide.

man my mom is an angel and i am so proud of this experienced time even if it was hard. This song reminds me of sad times, but whenever it's hard again, I can draw energy from this song.
