This song hands down makes or breaks a finger style guitarist. His Travis picking impeccable. Dude is from another planet.

Lost this video a few years ago. It suddenly resurfaced in my recommended videos for some reason, and I made a promise to not lose something this precious again.

the both of them are staring right in the face of what they already know.  Both of them have carrying a torch for each other for many, many years.  There is a spiritual connection between the two of them, and they don't even know it.

LB is lucky this song is a crucial "fan-favorite." He gets to play the song in all kinds of versatile ways, and everyone loves the song so they accept it. Plus, wow..LB is great at playing this song. He can do whatever he wants.

Oh I just LOVE how he saves the traditional picking pattern for the very ending. Great choice LB.

yeah I like the way he ends it. it's like a musical reminder of the initial groove, where this "alternative" version originates from.

i was thinking the same thing, sir. this is this lowest tuning i've seen him run on this song. i like it more that the original, to be honest. it feels like it has more soul to it. maybe it's just me?

Previous comments have it wrong. The guitar is tuned to two full steps below open D. Like this: A#, F, A#, D#, G, C

@Guitarlove420 Just drop the low E to a D. There are other tunings e.g. a C tuning, but that's the one he uses here and then uses a capo to change the key!

I've seen him play it with a capo on the 7th fret.
