Erinaki (Ερηνάκι - Κ.Σκαρβέλης)

A cover of a song by one of the Greek folk music pionners. Kostas Skarvelis had a very unique and unconventional way of keeping rythm by playing a nine string harp guitar. Erinaki was written in 1936 and was sung by Kostas Roukounas while the melodic guitar tune was performed by Spyros Peristeris. Is was one of the few "rebetiko" songs written in a 5/4 time signature.
This cover is a stripped down rendition of the song without the second, 2/4 "hasapiko" part, which has a more hopeful lyrical approach.
