Park Assist in Volkswagen T-Roc - real life test :: [1001cas]

Volkswagen T-Roc can be equipped with Park Assist – park steering assistant including manoeuvre braking. Park Assist automatically guides the T-Roc into parallel or perpendicular parking spaces, and it can also pull out of parallel parking spaces. The system helps the driver by autonomously making optimal steering wheel movements to follow an ideal line when parking in reverse. Park Assist automatically scans the parking space, assigns a starting position and makes the steering movements – the driver only needs to accelerate and brake. The manoeuvre braking also works to reduce parking and manoeuvring collisions when reversing.

I have a problem with my T Roc.
99 % of the time it doesn’t engage the Park assist.
I tried with/without the indicator, i tried turning on the Park assist before switching to R, I tried the reverse. Still not working.
It worked only when I drove it out of the shop brand new when the car salesperson demonstrated it.
For the last 6 months I cant do it.
Please if it is not too much trouble can you list the steps in chronological order?
I suspect the order is of importance here.
1. Find the appropriate parking space ( on the left or right side of the road) this one is easy!
What follows next ?
2 . ? Do we switch on the Park assist button right after 1?
3. Do we switch on the indicator ( left or right) and then the Park assist button and then we go in Reverse?
