People need to understand that certain foreign policy decisions made during that period would not have been made if not for the fact that Lady Thatcher and President Reagan had a special relationship.
Especially in regard to the Falklands.
The US at the time supported Argentina only as a hedge against Communism.
Britain had a right to reclaim the island.
Eventually the US supported Britain .Not only that, the US asked the Brits for a list of whatever military support they needed from them.
Again, without their friendship, and if it were another country, president Reagan would not have budged on official US foreign policy in that region
