I've used the split nuts and the parallel against the chuck, but never seen the bearing tool before. Not a bad idea for parts cut from sheet material.

If you're using parallels like that, you need to tap the part against them. Tightening the chuck makes the part move. You should have to push against the parallels to get them out. You know this isn't running true as shown. Ok, for a rough job though.

Always use the parallels but that roller is a cool idea

I've done the slotted nut thing when turning something that's already threaded so you don't damage the threads while chucking it. Also for getting something parallel in the chuck you can make a spider

Dont forget to put out the parallels, if ure in hurry hahahaha, flew in im stomach 3x times (nothing happend bc low rpm)

I use the parallel's all the time, but I usually have to make something similar to those nuts he used, I have a ton of collets but it's like anything you do, you can have a million sockets but not the one you need.
