Here at CarSauce, we review every new car on the market. We are a community of sauce givers and we'd love for you to subscribe and join our community!

We give every car "the sauce", test their 0-100km/h, and see whether or not they are worth purchasing and spending your hard-earned cash on.

From time to time, we'll also buy a weird and wacky car and take you on the journey with me! We release videos every Sunday 5pm AEST / AEDT with the latest new car reviews!

Your feedback is important, so if you want to see us do something new or something you would like me to change let me know! Got a question for me? Leave it in the comments! I try and respond to them all!

The bonus of this vehicle is that it comes with an engine that has a history of spinning main bearing journal’s. 😂

Early 2000s Pajero owners will love the styling

Toyota really aren’t giving Lexus much budget to differentiate their vehicles from the Toyota version in this BoF market… this new GX just don’t have Lexus vibes inside or out, Lexus should have been given more autonomy with the styling etc

KDSS makes a world of a difference around corners. Its not just a swaybar disconnect. Its a hydraulically controlled front and rear swaybar system that firms up around corners and loosens up when driving on slow undulations, providing better wheel articulation. I have it on my 2016 Prado Kakadu and it drives like a completely different car when compared to a Prado without KDSS.

Wow, disappointing but not surprising...

The audacity of Toyota and to add insult to injury they're ripping off the consumer in the process, the Prado is over priced to start with but this tarted version of that is outrageous.

Toyota is clearly cutting costs even further now.

Sombre and dull interior

Flimsy hard plastic internal surfaces everywhere including the door cards, dash top and rubbish to levers.

Too closely related visibly to the expensive but cheaper Toyota branded variant.

Poor handling

Flimsy rear bumper

Wireless charger space too small for many phone types.

No rear differential

Compromised rear seating in both rows

Rear storage space non existent with rear seats up.

Concerning loose and vibrating bonnet

Fuel consumption too high for 2024/25

I'm going to wait a few months for the all new generation of Pajero Sport and not be ripped off in the process.

I agree as said below....the price difference between the Prado and this is ridicules compared to the USA prices...regardless of the country you are selling in the same market. Lexus pricing in Aussie must be directly linked to house prices..

One of the best car review teams to watch but please never speak kindly about the Dunlop grand trek 30s again. They are the shocking tyre on and off road on the new Prado and I assume they were also holding the lexus back as well

Just worked out the driveway price...🤑 Base one is $137k. Thanks, luxury car tax & stamp duty....The other one is $144k.

God I love that Australian accent. I think Australians and Texans would get along so well. I wish more of you were in Texas.

This car reminds me of SsangYong Musso from the 90s. And they have a blue colour just like that one too.

Full fat Prado is the same price as the Overtrail in US markets; yet in Australia it’s a 25k mark up. It’s nice, but I’d probably take an Altitude Prado over this.

When are we getting the new Prado review?

I’ve been waiting for my GX Overtrail for over 12 months (due to my colour choice) do I keep waiting or go for the slower Prado Altitude? The power does concern me as I drive a lot on the highway out west qld. But very much in two minds…Love the honest review, about time 👍🏻

For the past few years I have noticed the Euro's and Japanese are moving to more and more plastic be it interior or exterior. Whilst the Chinese cars are getting more and more premium with more tech standard. 100K with so much

Probably an inflamatory suggestion here.... but I did test drive a 300 series late last year... not a comprehensive test but it was VERY confortable to sit in and had effortless power avaiable 🙂, but also in fairness I didnt have the opportunity to give it the beans... Personal opinion only, but I didnt like the look... especially the view over the bonnet....

... anyways, full disclosure, I chose a Defender 110 P400e X Dynamic PHEV instead. Hopefully not an outrageous suggestion as pricing is not TOTALLY Subtle hint, I'd love to see you guys do your usual review together on one of my admitteldy biased favorites. Please? 🙂
