Hey Minimal Fam ♥️! What is something you wish you knew before becoming a minimalist?

I wish I would have realized sooner that empty space is not a bad thing!! I’ve gotten rid of so many of my organizing bins because I don’t have as much to store! Now my closets are almost empty but I have everything I need!

I love how restful your home looks now. Truly inspiring for a young family. It’s also great you are both on the same page as a couple. ❤️

I wish I knew I wouldn’t actually know any other minimalist in real life. I am the only minimalist I know of in real life which is why I cling tightly to any online minimalist I find and you two are some of my favorites. Such good ideas. How do you guys have this all figured out? You should be very proud of yourselves. Keep the videos coming!

🤣🤣 the comment about being able to handle more kids. He clearly wants more lol that’s sweet. I had 4 in 4 and a half years!

You both are an inspiration. Having a lot of children is a blessing! I didn’t start til I was 34 and had my last at 41. Then we went on to adopt three children in my early 50’s!! Don’t rule out more kids. ❤️

You guys are absolutely adorable. So glad I found you-our 3 kids are in college and my husband and I are working our way towards minimalism. What a process it is but does take away so much stress!!

Your point about "anyone can live minimally and still have an abundant life". Listening to your previous videos and this one, i think you have a more abundant life in your minimal living. Less clutter, less distractions, less minding things means you are doing more of what you like, having more time for family and people and more peaceful rest. That sounds abundant to me and what I hope to get to in my downsizing journey to having just enough.

Aww, what a beautiful family you are. Sounds like you're well on your way to a full and content life. Together, you can achieve anything. I wish my husband and I had known about minimalism when we were younger. It's been a real struggle for us over the years, and we only started our minimalism journey a year ago. Already, we've enjoyed so many benefits...the peace it brings is the greatest gift x

Yes #1! I find myself just being impatient and wanting to be done right away. But it’s good to slow down and really think in depth about what exactly you need and don’t

1. There is no rush. Finish up one room before you move on.
2. Even after minimizing you will still need to declutter periodically.
(Clothes, toys, replacing things).
Put things to get rid off into a bigger box and get rid of it once per month.
You will be able to get rid off things that you used to use six months ago.
3. People, friends and family may not understand or agree with your lifestyle. If you get gifts and you enjoy that, keep it. If you have no use for it, give it away.
(If you love your lifestyle you won't care).
The longer you do it, the more people will start to understand it and be inspired.
4. Being minimalist doesn't mean it's spotlessly clean all the time. Only the resetting a couple of times per day will be so simple and quick.
It's about keeping an easier home.
Kids need a lot less than you think. People are creatures of habit (Same clothes, Samo toys).
Kids can decide what to keep/throw away.
5. Teach kids the WHY (why having less things), lead by example. Include them in the process.
Minimalism might make you think you can manage more kids (house, laundry, toys).
Kids are not as expensive, when you don't buy that much stuff.
6. Anyone can live minimally and still have an abundant life.
