Create a DIY horizontal scratcher for your cat

How to: make a horizontal scratcher You will need: A cardboard box
Scissors
Extra cardboard
A little bit of patience

Instructions
- Measure a few inches from the bottom of your box
- Mark all the way round with a ruler
- Cut the box along the continuous line
- Cut the excess cardboard into strips the same ‘height’ and width as the trimmed box
- Fill the box tightly with the cardboard strips
- Invite your cat to scratch by sprinkling some cat nip or a few treats on your finished scratcher

I just bought my neighbour's new kitten a cardboard scratching thingy. And exactly like in the video, it has the edges showing upward. And her Majesty Miss Inky sits on it like royalty!

I only buy or build sisal rope scratchers.
