MIT researchers have developed an additive manufacturing technique that can print rapidly with liquid metal, producing large-scale parts like table legs and chair frames in a matter of minutes.

This is good for large parts yes but that was not the point of 3d printing, 3d printing was designed to quickly create usable parts without post processing, that said, like FDM and resin printing have different uses entirely, this process could be used to rapidly print large and heavy parts that An FDM printer would struggle with and/or take months

I don’t see how this solves the issue with normal metal 3d printing… if anything the layer lines are less likely to fuse with this technique than with a 3d welding robot

The printed part will be contaminated with glass particles and mills can't get into every corner and angle of the parts this thing produces... limited cause use

This feels more like 2D printing not 3D.

Bro injection molding is already a thing and they don't need a special 3D printer gamble with molten aluminum
