The Senate voted to repeal Michigan's right-to-work law, which is just a step toward the direction thousands of Michigan workers want. It comes after the Michigan House already approved the same thing last week.

Right to work actually means right to have lower wages (15%), no employer paid health care, and less workplace safety.

Washington State does not have a right to work law... Yet it is home to some of the largest and most powerful corporations in the world. In fact these corporations were born and are headquartered there

Good work Unions on getting the correct people elected to get representation in the workplace. Don’t forget who got you this win in a few years when the GOP try’s to scare you into voting the other way. Things are never perfect, but this is a great step.

For that dude to say right to work gives you freedom, you’re free to go work somewhere else if you don’t want to be in a Union.

Yes! People in this country have ALWAYS had a "right to work, " actually it's a NECESSITY. What they DON'T have in every state is fair labor practices.
"Right to work State" just means that employers within that state can fire you at will with no fair compensation. "But you can resign anytime you want, too, as a 'fair' tradeoff, " is what right to work States will tell you. But folks, you have ALWAYS been free to quit your job.
Well, there *have* been exceptions in our history, especially for our more melanated members of society... [*heavy* sarcasm, or perhaps forewarning... ]

Outstanding proud to be Union 👌. In right to work Florida most workers retire in poverty with a bible in one hand and a food stamp card in the other hand. A overwhelming situation in Florida.

Tennessee is a right to work state meaning you have the right to work just not at this company

No, I remember when “Right to Work” passed. It was devastating. There ARE reasons why. The law that passed did not do everything it promised. Your speeches tell nothing.

Not cool. This is from someone who is in a right to work (for more) state.

Just so it's clear....
What Is a Right-to-Work Law?
A right-to-work (RTW) law gives workers the freedom to choose whether or not to join a labor union in the workplace. This law also makes it optional for employees in unionized workplaces to pay for union dues or other membership fees required for union representation, whether they are in the union or not.
So, workers are forced to pay Union dues whether or not they agree with the Union's political we all know are for Democrats.
So even if you are an Independent, you will be supporting Democrats.
Nice job Michigan Democrats, way to be the authoritarians we always knew you were.

What the people have a right to is FREE CHOICE!! no one should be forced to be unionized or pay dues if they do not want to. This is not a victory for freedom but a victory for union presidents and his allies pockets $$$

I'm not sure how it matters one way or the other. "Nurses have left the bedside" Huh? or "Companies will scratch Michigan off their list" Huh?

Yes let’s make sure you push inflation to the breaking point.

Not great .. a two edged sword .. look at the US auto industry years ago thanks to unions protecting a mess . It’s just one example. Freedom to hire and promote or fire without a collective approving it promotes quality output …besides this is another way smaller companies get pushed out and big ones handle much easier

Unions ruined Michigan, Flint's water was under union management, that's all you need to know

Even MORE jobs leaving michigan now. We left Michigan to middle tennessee 3 years ago. BEST decision we've ever made. We get to keep more money in our pockets here & the roads are 100x better. People are also better. Good riddance murder mitten

If Unions are happy about this, then you know it's going to hurt everyone.

Here's one thing I don't understand. These people think companies have infinite money. They seem to believe that these companies are just keeping all the money for themselves and not re-investigating into the company. Senator Thomas A. Albert is 100% right. Union fees are essentially a tax. What do they think is going to happen when a company simply decides not to pay the Union fees, and instead, move jobs to Mexico or Canada where it's cheaper to produce the same stuff? Suddenly, workers are left without a job, despite trying to force companies to pay more. Despite having a shining, local example with the Detroit automotive industry, Michigan learned absolutely nothing. Instead of getting new jobs, they'll lose the few jobs they had and they'll be left wondering why they left.

The state just made a law forcing workers to join unions.
Dimocrats voting to repay unions for their contributions.
