Alaska State Fair - [Living in Alaska Day 10]

Palmer, Alaska hosts the annual Alaska State Fair and it runs through the last 2 weeks of August. Although the ride selection is a bit small and the carnival games are limited, there are lots of great local venders, shows and exhibits to see. The highlights of our experience were seeing the giant vegetables, trying the free food samples (which were amazing) and watching the lumberjacks do their thing. Personally, I thought this fair would be much bigger since everything in Alaska seems so over the top but for what it lacks in midway, it makes up for in heart.

Hey, Im a resident of Alaska and I've been born and raised for almost 19 years now. May 18th is actually my birthday so not too far away. I live within the Matsu-Valley where the State Fair takes place. I have NEVER missed a single year of the Fair. I always enjoy my time, the food, rides, games, and the people, and vendors and booths are amazing!! The crowd is always nice and they are fun to be around. It is definitely something the Community of Alaska has done from many many years, and I will never give up my spot as a Alaskan even when I die ^_^
