Thank you for talking about the train derailment story. The regular news dropped this story like a bad habit.

I felt like I was going crazy with no one really covering the train derailment in any meaningful capacity. Good work as always

Heed this. Either we come together in an organized movement directly against the corrupt rich and their dangerous empires of greed and excess, or we all suffer their nightmare dystopia.

Choose soon, please.

The stuff in East Palestine is crazy. I lived there for a while and my family still lives there. The first day basically a large portion of the town was evacuated (including my brothers) and the range at which people were evacuated slowly increased. Thankfully my brothers were able to get out of town for a bit and a vet took care of the one brother's dog for nothing for a few days until the worst was over. Motels/hotels and the like were offering rooms for very cheap as well. It's a really shitty situation but thankfully some people stepped up and did their best to help out. Also, not like it really matters, but people from the area pronounce it PAL-UH-STEEN.

The derailment happened about 50 minutes away from me and of course this happens right after I buy a house right next to the same exact track

If we lived in a just world, the people in charge would be sued and thrown in prison because of the train derailment. Unfortunately there might be a handful of scapegoats and probably some slaps on the wrist smh my head

There was another derailment just a bit south of there in Jefferson County Ohio back in November that dumped a tons of garbage into and around the Ohio River between Steubenville and Toronto. Nasty business...

That Ohio story is insane. That whole town is gonna die/be sick. That company will get off despite causing a whole town to suffer

I live near Cincinnati, all of us downstream have been very worried about this and hardly anyone has covered East Palestine. About half my friends knew more about the upcoming Superbowl than this train derailment.🤦‍♀

Making strikes illegal should be illegal. The whole point of a strike is that it causes problems!!!

Adding to the "friendly fire" incident, he was shot 3 times in the head, it was murder.

I love that you guys not only summarise what happened but also look at previous government action that probably caused this. Its great

Imaging taking 10% of the yearly military budget and spend it on updating all our infrastructure. The lives saved. Jobs created, boosted economy, time saved etc.
Be amazing

A corporate disaster tax is in order. Or stop tax payers from cleaning up private sector mess.

Funny that just after they made it illegal to strike and unionize in the railroads, this happens, which could have been prevented with unionized regulations...

Man, it's just disasters everywhere at the moment! Cyclone Gabrielle just came through NZ, and half of my town is massively flooded. Luckily, I live on a hill.

We've lost multiple bridges, and entire cities are cut off. A few dozen people in my larger area were stuck on roofs, but the choppers couldn't fly to get them because the winds were too high. The Unimog trucks should have got them by now though, hopefully.

We just lost water and were told it won't be back for at least 3 to 4 days. But.... I'm *so* glad to have power and internet :)

I appreciate you speaking out for those in Ohio who's lives will be forever changed.
Those chemicals are so dangerous. And the govt just burned it up right over our heads. Right over Ohio farm land. I live in Ohio. I'm 55 miles away from east Palestine and we could smell something in the air. We all have sore throats and a cough.
