Lightroom 5 Review - A look at the new must have features in Lightroom 5

We take a look a the new awesome features in Lightroom 5 that will make this a must have upgrade for many people. There are some new tools from Photoshop CS6 that are now embedded into Lightroom 5 that will add some must have functionality and save editing time. This is a what's new look into my favorite new tools of Lightroom 5.

The distortion correction worked ver well too. I put the link inside the description for this video. Keep in mind that that on June 30, the beta software will expire and i'm not sure if you can export out the catalog from the beta version so you might not get to keep the changes you make to the images. You could always export the JPEGs though and you will stll have the original raw files. I'm not 100% on that but I was pretty sure that was how it worked with LR4 Beta

You can delete the preview files whenever you want and while it won't affect the catalog size by much because the catalog is not storing previews, it does speed things up when editing with the preview files because they are lower resolution DNG files. You can also create the preview files at any time after you import if you forget to do it during import. This feature is mostly for those who like or want to work off of an external hard drive. Awesome feature though.

It does feel faster although I'm working with a small catalog than I usually am in Lightroom 4. Although this is a 1st gen beta so it should only get faster. Adobe claims it is faster and will be significantly faster when using the smart preview files which would make sense since they are lower resolution.

The upgrade should be under $80-$100 and the full version should be around $150. It will also be offered as a part of Creative Cloud from Adobe which get's you ALL adobe products for $50/month including Lightroom 5 and Adobe Photoshop.

do you know how much it will cost (approximately)? Because I`m using the Lr 4.4 for about a half a year and now that I`ve seen your review of the Lr 5 Beta. I absolutely want to buy it!
I`m really curious to see more of the newfeatures like the touch up tool! :D

hi all..i have problems exporting my images. it always says 'some export operations were not perform - not enough memory'. after develop my image do i have to copy and paste to library first before exporting. pls help. thanks in advanced

Is this program worth it really? im just starting photography and I'm learning atm how to shoot raw. PLUS i'm moving out of country soon. so 100 or so dollars is quite a bit... :P
