Orca Encounter (Full Show) - SeaWorld Orlando - May 27, 2023

This Orca Encounter was taken on Memorial Day 2023, and it was my favorite Orca Encounter at SeaWorld Orlando I saw this year. You'll see notably more group behaviors done by the whales than usual. It was almost as if they put in extra effort for the holiday audience! See below for the highlights:

0:00 Intro with Katina, Nalani, and Malia, starting with Katina's center belly breach
- 0:13 Nalani and Malia crossover bows! The only time I saw crossover bows this year

5:45 Husbandry and Play/Volunteer with Katina, Nalani, and Malia, starting with them doing some underwater tones (go to center)
- 6:14 All three whales hula asked for with a tone!
- 7:20 All three fluke present to demonstrate the trained blood draw layout
- 8:25 Katina slides out for the weight demonstration
- 10:30 Nalani bow at stage

13:22 The Hunt/Splash with Katina, Nalani, and Malia starting with Katina's fast swim followed immediately by Nalani and Malia sliding over
- 14:03 Katina's fluke splash zippers
- 15:35 Nalani and Malia fluke splash the slideout and immediately slideover

18:11 Finale with Trua and Makaio, starting with Trua's fluke splash
-19:15 Trua was asked for a center belly breach but he landed on his side!
- 20:23 Makaio and Trua alien
- 21:01 Makaio and Trua center back breach then they slideout together(thumbnail)

Spectacular! I _love_ when they ask for group behaviors and the whales respond with all this energy. Gorgeous animals clearly robust and healthy and having fun with their trainers. And it’s always a joy to see Katina touch the sky (and always with one eye on her trainer, too, like, “How’s this? High enough?”).

The host has such a wonderful voice and personality for this! Man, it seems like Orlando is the only park with male trainers anymore..
