"Is there anything else you would like to do." More terrifying words have never been uttered.

From California we used "my baby looks hot tonight" when I learned it. Middle bottom legs head and top of torso.

Hey, I'm super appreciative of these videos. I'm gonna watch all of them all day and until I complete the EMT course. I'm the only one in that class with no prior medical training or aspirations. It's intimidating and I'm nervous about it all the time, but I felt the need to jump into it and be all in. Even if it's just for a little while. Thanks, guys.

For state of Connecticut, it goes middle, bottom, top, legs, padding for head, head straps. Move to backboard, secure, PMS, release legs and PMS again.

hey guys! keep inmind this demenstration passes the NREMT, but may not pass as your school cerfitacation criteria. i use this as a tool. im in california and some orders in this video are out of place but the idea is there. every state does have differnt cerfitaction criteria

Great videos. Very informative and professional. Cover all the points correctly. BTW, I thought Goose was killed in a fighter jet accident. LOL!

I didn't even learn this in my SC school, but I'm glad it's here for me to learn it anyways.

Addressing various comments here for any viewers in 2018...

- The order of the straps does not matter for NREMT. I don't know about specific states. All that matters for NREMT is that you pad and secure the head AFTER the torso is "appropriately secured." It is up to the judgment of the examiner how many straps constitute "appropriately secured."
- This skill is still included in the NREMT psychomotor exam, but is not necessarily given. It is one of four skills that you must pick at random: long bone immobilization, joint immobilization, spine board (seated patient), and bleeding control/shock management. You pick and perform one of those skills. Maybe some test centers alter their choices knowing that nobody could prove they did, but it's more likely that if nobody you know got this skill, luck and statistics were just on your side 😁

This info is from the NREMT examination users guide posted on nremt.org as of July 9, 2018

this one is a little critical you secure that c-spine the whole time no sudden movement

Taking my NREMT final exam this sat.
The correct order for strapping the pt is;
Boy - Bottom
My - Middle
Leg - the "Legs"
Cramps - Chest (take a deep breath then snug it)
Hurts - the Head last.

Transfer the pt to the long backboard & then releasing the leg straps. Otherwise, the pt legs will be pointing upwards. And then checking PMS (Pulse, Motor & Sensory). PMS should be done before & at the end as you just watched.

Someone already mentioned it but not entirely. Before putting on a C-collar, check for DCAPBTLS, step-off (missing/offset cervical vertebrae), JVD & trachea deviation. Same goes with the pt entire back (DCAPBTLS, ecchymosis &/or bleeding) before placing the pt on the KED &/or the backboard. Otherwise, you will have to unstrap the whole thing in the ambulance in order to log roll & to reassess the pt back.

It's actually My Baby Looks Totally Piping Hot MBLTPH= middle, bottom, legs, top, padding, head. I'm taking my practical Jan 17, and that's the criteria for Massachusetts. But great videos, really helpful!

I don't remember the straps been put in that order. I think it was the last one or the middle one first. Please Reply back if I'm wrong. I need to make sure of the order.

No DECAP-BTLS check behind the back when she was siting forward?

You should check the neck for any j.juries, step offs and check.for.jvd before you put c-collar on. As well.as.inspect chest.

I did this exactly that way and failed. I think they got me for the cspine transfer. but there's no way of knowing. They refuse to provide you with reasons for failure.
