My name is Chrome i have been living in y cargo van for 6 years now. I started this lifestyle BROKE and IN DEBT and after 11 months of living the van life i cleared my debt and started to put my life back together and build for a better future. I have turned my original van into a badass camper van that is lifted with all the toys. Over the years i went from being broke and stealth camping in the city and sleeping at walmarts... to now, living fulltime in a jacked up van and driving deep off-grid into the backcountry and living life in the dirt. WOW LIFE HAS CHANGED.

I now have a shop space to keep me busy through the winters here on Canada's westcoast. Went from Van Life to VAN LIFE + SHOP LIFE !!!!!! Come join this crazy van life journey of mine. HIT SUBSCRIBE, trust me its gonna be a WILD RIDE.

Hey Chrome. It's Joseph, we met North Island. That day, you found the dogs.

I'm coming up on a full year vanlifeing. I definitely have no regrets. But I have had some dark days. I am an introvert and thought vanlife would be easy. It's not, lol. I traveled all over North Island and Northern BC last summer. Seen some amazing scenery. I have to spend a couple days in a city every once in awhile. Just going to a coffee shop or whatever.

I'm in Parksville right now. Something about this place feels good.

I'm looking at Haida Guaii for next spring. Take the ferry from Port Hardy.

Shoot me message if you want to tag along for part of it.

Have an awesome day.
Joseph

I am also re-evaluating my life. Being alone is ok but sometimes you want someone to talk to while traveling. My first step will be getting another fur baby. I lost my Sadie Bell 4years ago. She was the best companion.

Hanging out in the back country doing nothing can still be an enjoyable time. It gives you an opportunity to think and maybe get some little things done. Be safe out there and I will see you in the next video❤

At least you don't have to worry about a place to park, do laundry, shower, etc. That warehouse comes in handy for you. Heck, you can live there.

Have you considered getting Cruz a sweater for outdoors? Get some clear stackable bins and name them by seasonal and put in your shop. I have some under my bed.

Chrome, you are absolutely correct about getting older and not wanting to be solo. When younger, my adventures were 100% solo. Now that I am older I consider bringing someone along with me. Maybe it's a safety thing, Maybe I am not as active as I used to be and rather sit around a camp fire and chat. Not sure what it is, but I find myself not doing the solo thing as often. Sending much love from Arkansas.

Clear plastic cases so you can see what is in them without having to open everything up

I hear you chrome about taking time to stop and clean out your van, I am a hospice nurse and only work part time but if I didn’t stop and downsize every once in a while I’d have more stuff than suv . So I do clean out often and I am always asking myself where did I get that and when? And why? lol, I love your videos and sweet cruzy !

There is something to be said for purging stuff. Clothing, bits and pieces and the hardest for me...paper. I've been working my way through my flat...one room, one closet at a time.

H ere's your answer, it's called hibernation. It's hit you and the dog. Just give yourself down time and then you feel refreshed. Cold, but invigorated.

Your body knows what it needs more than you do. Take a day or 10 to honour yourself. We can wait! You cannot pour tea from an empty teapot, do what you need for you!!! Btw, we are, entering the nesting phase of the year!!! Much love & healing light to you and Cruz!!! ❤

Hey Chrome, firewood mess is a pain. This is what I use to contain the mess when I go to the bush or pickup wood for the backyard fire pit.
Costco bags, they are big, durable and when not in use fold away easy.
I’ve been using them for years and the only downside is if you leave them in the sun for long periods of time ( months) they degrade. Other than that they are awesome .

Hey Chrome, if you want to avoid wood chips all over, stuff your firewood into a hockey goalie bag, plenty big👍

Hey chrome, take it from someone who lives in London on the rate race day in and day out, dreaming about van life and being able to travel to places.
That feeling is you figuring out that having people around you is amazing but being alone is good too.
One thing that can make this new phase of your journey better is doing something different, like learning how to fish or something like that

We all go through seasons in our life. It’s ok to enjoy some alone time, but even better to enjoy the time spent with cherished people who are important to you.
