I have aftershot pro 2 and has its flaws, now I am trying out Affinity photo for windows and I like it so far, at least it is not crashing like aftershot.

I’ve been running Aftershot Pro 3 and Paintshop Pro 2018 on a high end Windows 10 machine and I think they are great products. I’m still tempted from time to time to open up Photoshop as I’m familiar with it, but with these latest versions from Corel I can finally make the switch and save some money.

I have used the trial version of Aftershot Pro 3 on a Linux Ubuntu Studio 16.04 a few weeks ago. And it does not recognize my Canon L lenses, my Tamron or my Sigma Art lenses for lens correction. Color management/adjusting and sharpening also are miles behind my old Lightroom 5.7. And if you want functionality in Aftershot Pro 3, you have to buy several add on's that in the end will make it more expensive than Lightroom. And still it is miles behind an old version of Lightroom.
So I still look for a Lightroom alternative for Linux.

Sorry but I had terrible experience with Aftershot Pro 3. It's unstable und buggy even with version 3.1. I'm looking forward to test out ON1 Photo RAW.

Aftershot Pro 3-downloaded the latest version today (thankfully a trial). Very poor, colours wrong in adjustment (magenta hue-supposed to be a patch that fixed this); Adjustment sliders move without being activated which is just crazy. How can you do anything on a more pro level with a buggy system like this?? Avoid.

I'm pretty torn right now - I absolutely hate Photoshop/Adobe as an entity, I find it less intuitive than PSP progs I've used in the past but I am currently about to upgrade to a brand new Photo platform which is looking like PSP X9 and AfterShot Pro3 - BUT!!!! - I am a little put off by the complete lack of Tutorial support for PSP on Youtube and generally in magazines compared to PS and Lightroom. Everytime I pick up a magzine I see great tutes for Lightroom and there's literally nothing in that regard to support PSP and AfterShot ... this one glaring omission is forcing me towards PS and LightRoom and I don't even want to USE their platform ... I think I am going to have to though ...

"Because I'm a awash with money at the moment I purchased Corel AfterShot Pro 3 for Linux Mint/Ubuntu. Corel AfterShot Pro 3 is outrageously buggy the errors belong to another era. Losing directions unable to see files that are there. Unable to see simple JPEG files even though they are in that direction and even though they are in the catalogue.

But seeing JPEG files which no longer exist and clicking on that file that no longer exists crashes the program! without error messages.
Damaging the original files when it should be only touching the clone.

Technical support does not understand the Linux version of Corel AfterShot Pro 3, that's outrageous!
Unable to see some Canon Raw files which may be "fixed in a future upgrade".

Had to switch to KDE Linux Mint "RawTherapee 4.2.0" which could see all the files.
Had to go out and purchase a Samsung laptop i7 16GB with Windows 7 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 14, and Xara Photo & Graphic Designer.

What the hell is the matter with this company Corel and their product on Linux "AfterShot Pro 3". I gave them my money so I'm stuck with the program But for gods sake it's useless! i really got taken for a fool with that one".
