The ending with the phone call where his expression suddenly changes once the phone call is accepted resonantes a lot with me. It's a feeling of joy and relief, that maybe there's hope for a new era. A subtle but hugely emotionally important detail as this person likely cares a lot about who they're talking to, but it's likely been so long he's unsure where to begin other than with small talk.
