MASS EFFECT 3 - REVIEWING ALL CHARACTERS WHO REPLACE DEAD SQUADMATES

MASS EFFECT 3 - RARE WREX DIALOGUE IF SHEPARD DESTROYED MAELON'S DATA

Mass Effect 3 is one of the most divisive games that Bioware has ever made. While many of us really love Mass Effect 3, it’s undeniable that the game is largely remembered for its poorly executed endings, which left a lot of gamers feeling disappointed and unsatisfied. Ask any gamer what they remember about Mass Effect 3 and they’ll likely talk about the red, green and blue endings. This is a shame because Mass Effect 3 has some of the best moments in the series, and it has a lot of great experiences to offer.

First he defends James as a character, now he goes out and says ME3 is his favorite; this man truly fears nobody

I remember the first time I went to Garrus for dialogue after a main mission and was shocked to not find him calibrating. The notion that he was elsewhere on the ship having a conversation with another crew member blew my mind. It made immersion of being on the Normandy 1000x better. I'm pretty sure the new Guardians of the Galaxy game was inspired by ME3.

Here's something to consider when comparing 2/3, ME2 often feels like lots of mini stories when most of the missions are focused on a specific squad mate's story. ME3 is more cohesive and all the missions feed into the next so it allows the story to be more expansive and impactful.

Curing the Genophage with Wrex, and Mordin’s death is probably my favorite story sequence in any game I’ve played. It’s so fulfilling and emotional, the music is beautiful, and because you’ve grown with these characters everything is more meaningful

It’s really hard to choose a favorite Mass Effect original trilogy game, because they all have different strengths and weaknesses, but if I was gonna have to pick just one of them I would pick the first mass effect, because of the great story and introduction to the universe and all the lore in it and I also like it more because I like that it has more RPG elements than the other 2 games do

All of them are great for one reason compared to the rest.
ME1 story building
ME2 relationship building
ME3 culmination of it all
Andromeda exploration (give me back my power wheel!)

I absolutely LOVE how the squad mates move around the ship and talk to eachother! Much improved over the other games

ME3 is my favorite, too! I really appreciate how old friends respond to each other when they reunite on missions.

In ME2, I was always disappointed that Garrus and Rex don't address each other when I take Garrus and Grunt to Tuchunka. ME3 fixes that.

“Shepard Commander, I must go to them…” kills me every time. That and “would like to have run tests on the seashells…”

Best game in the series BY FAR

As the saying goes, "It's easy for people to look on your worst mistakes. But the ones who truly know you, will always remember the good deeds you've done."
Tons of people play ME3 even today, which goes to show that they appreciate its good deeds.

I literally finished the trilogy for the first time yesterday (LE) and I completely agree. I loved every second of the experience, even the Mako and Jacob lol, but it was the 3rd game when I was most connected to the world and the characters. So many moments with payoff from former storylines, too.
I played the parts and all the DLC back to back over the holidays and the ending felt like letting go of a new family. I understand that back when it was first released it was a controversial ending, but to me it felt earned. Tough but earned.
I wish I could forget it all and play it again for the first time. (Just to fall in love with Garrus again)..

All great points. My personal favorite is the first game. I love how enigmatic the Reapers still are and the more RPG elements it features as opposed to shooter elements the later ones have.

Interesting take, Dan. My personal favorite is 2 (I know, really breaking news ground). I think this stems from the fact that my favorite character in the series is actually Mordin, and the fact that you get to have more interactions with him in the 2nd game is a huge plus. Also, being reunited with Archangel/Garrus and Wrex always puts the biggest, stupidest grin on my face: it really does feel like being reunited old friends. I will agree that 3 has some incredible payoffs for the characters we've grown attached to, and that's why it's my second favorite.

I love ME3; it just hits different. The stakes are so high with reapers opposing us everywhere and Cerberus not making things any easier. Just as you said, the culmination of all your choices from past games dictating a lot of the outcomes in ME3 is very well done and if I'm being honest I don't even hate the ending, though I think it's half baked.

An unpopular opinion on mass effect 3. I welcome it though, I love hearing which mass effect they love the most. Mine is mainly the second one for its gameplay, characters, and story, but its a bit of a tie for my the 1st and 3rd games. I loved the 3rd for having all the assets and gathering allies to fight the unwinnable fight, also the citadel party is the best thing in that game. The 1st game had alot of great first steps in its introduction and really made me appreciate the universe of mass effect. Even with be small things about each I don't like, they're all great games.

Mass Effect 2 was my favorite game for years. I love all of them (even Andromeda). Also, with Mass Effect 3, I always loved the endings. Literally had zero issues. I've had dozens of playthroughs and I didn't even experience the extended ending until the Legendary Editon. However, upon my recent playthrough of the LE, Mass Effect 3 is now my favorite. The whole story feels epic. I love the weapons and armor. The music and emotional moments are superb. My favorite thing about ME3 is the gameplay. It is just so damn fun. The weapons feel like they pack a punch. I just love the whole trilogy, but each game just gets better.

Agree with this 100 %. I would add that both the characters and surroundings look amazing in ME3, especially in MELE. For example, the battery, where Garrus always hangs out, is not only larger in ME3 (you can actually walk alongside the guns) but much more detailed; it seems much more like a real room. This mirrors the player's deepening connection to the world and the characters, and thus really adds to the experience.
