This movie proves, you don't need CGI, big budget effects to create a good movie. A good story, decent actors and it's a masterpiece.

A great example of why content is king. An audience can deal with lackluster production in exchange for riveting story.

I know this might sound stupid, but this movie changed my life. It changed my view towards religion, art, culture, evolution, language families and more. Dunno what it did, but I started looking at world history & theology at an analytical angle. And I am happier and feel more "space" in my head & this life.

Thank you, to whomever I got to share these few words with.

Not sure if anyone else picked up on it, and it likely wasn’t completely intentional, but John’s actor has the perfect voice for this role. He doesn’t sound very foreign but doesn’t sound very American like his friends. Their voice is more neutral and level. And this is quite interesting once you consider that he lived in Europe, mostly Western Europe from what we hear. And he only came to America in the last 130 years, enough time to become fluent in English, however not enough to wash away 2, 000 years of European Influence and 12, 000 years of living in the Middle East and Mediterranean.

In a way, it scares me. It’s like the uncanny valley effect, if you erase context, it doesn’t feel so weird; Just a soft spoken man. But being so fantastically old makes it different.

I’ve probably watched this movie at least 25-30 times. Every time I watch it, I learn a thing or two from it. This movie is so thought provoking and I don’t think I can ever get bored of it.

I LOVED this movie!
The way very intelligent university professors debate the idea and ask all the right questions makes this movie. Too many movies I find myself saying "they wouldn't do that", "why didn't they ..." You get the idea. This one NAILS IT!
The plot is unique, the acting impeccable, and the twists bring it to new heights!

Anyone else tear up when the phsychologist realized he was his father? That was so real.. he watched his son die of a heart attack...

_Wow_ . This is one of those low budget, high concept films that are usually executed poorly, but this one manages to knock it out of the park. What an incredible, moving piece of art.

The first time I saw this movie about 12 or so years ago I was amazed at how the dialogue was captivating. No actions scenes, just great storytelling. Now all these years later it's still captivating

*Thank you for sharing this. This film haunts me in a way. Ever since the first time I saw it, it pops up in my mind once every few years, a desire to see it again. It somehow feels like returning to an old friend. Something so unique and haunting. The greatest indie film I have ever seen. The ending always makes me cry*
