The ice roads to Island Lake

Food Banks Canada is committed to building relationships, investing in communities, and engaging in research and policy development to help address food insecurity in northern and remote parts of the country. That's why in February 2023, amidst growing food insecurity concerns, we hit the winter roads with staff members from Harvest Manitoba to help ship 17,000 pounds of healthy, nutritious food to the remote northern community of Island Lake.
