I've never really cared or paid attention to MINI before, but this is some seriously nice design and innovation. Congratulations to all involved.

A very bold move to incorporate the senior staff into a commercial. Let's put it this way.

The team responsible for this video was just a bit overtrying with the dialogues 😅

I’ve been saying they should add this for years and honestly i’m so glad (it looks like) they took the time to do it right.

As a Designer and Mini Cooper SE owner, I am excited about the new generation. If the voice recognition is good, and the UI is as smooth as it is beautiful and functional, some might prefer using it over Car Play and Android Auto. I am cool with the minimalistic interior as long as the quality of the assembly and the materials are on par with the current generation. Maybe I should fill out the application to join the Design team, I like what they do 🤩

Love it, finally someone totally redefining the interior rather than pasting screens all over just for the sake of it

Mini's centre console has been one of the best thing about Mini ever, and always had so much potential! Finally!

I've just bought my 9th MINI, a MINI Clubman JCW, and I absolutely love it. But I'm so excited for the next generation of cars, and this new screen and OS look absolutely amazing. I CAN'T WAIT :)

I'm a bit concerned about the direction in which car design is heading, especially looking at the new Mini cockpit project. It seems to be loaded with distractions that could divert my attention away from driving. It's a relief that the designers have considered allowing the clock to be positioned with the least distraction. However, I must point out the designed mascot animation that pops up on the screen after saying "Hi Mini" - it could lead to some truly unwanted effects while on the road. As an interaction designer, I'm quite worried about such moves from designers, as it feels like we're turning a regular car into a smartphone that's relentlessly trying to capture my attention, and that's not the role a car should play.

A giant pixel watch as your car infotainment system. What a time to be alive.

For me Mini was always about racing and being a fun to drive car, kind of odd to see it not be talked about and really take away the focus from being a driving experience to a sort of A to B car.

This reads more of like an AD for a smart watch or TV, not a Mini.

Using OLED for the main screen is a huge mistske. Within just a couple of years or maybe even less, itll generate screenburn then after a few years itll be so hard to find the same screen. Either because they changed the design, or they moved away from oled. OLED will look amazing but a UHD LED screen would be far better.

Love it! Mini as it should be, playful and fun. I just hope their electric cars get a more competitive range as well… can’t expect people to pay a premium for less than 150km of real world range (230km of WLTP range). It’s currently worse than the e-golf, and even just on par with the now very the old generation Nissan Leaf. Needs 400km plus, even as a city car (due to many people having to park along the streets with fewer chargers available on a day to day basis).

As a designer, I appreciate how well thought out the UI/UX looks in these demos! Its not easy designing for a circular screen (which is also very very cool and different!) Also really like the fact they retained some of the key touch-points as physical knobs and buttons. Sometimes you cannot replace that tactile UX with screens (like Tesla is doing). Would love to have a play with this at the dealership and see if it is easy and intuitive to use..

so if we’ve reduced the interior and made everything digital, it’ll be cheaper right-?

I love it. Anything that is closer to the original dashboard is fine with me

Very cute and all, but let me get this straight - there are no physical buttons for things like the climate system but we get a physical switch for "EXPERIENCES"? Some frequently used controls just have to retain the good ol' tactile switch or button. Much easier and safer to use than any touch screen interface.

At first I was worried, but it actually looks quite well designed and at least there are some physical controls. I like minis

More driver KNEE room! YES! You finally opened up your dashboard and provided more space for us people with long legs. New infotainment looks good, but more knee room is the main factor I will now consider Mini as my next car. Please put a premium audio into more trims as an option.

Another slapped on afterthought and sold as the latest and greatest innovation.
