Thomas Tuchel has been announced as England Manager to replace interim manager Lee Carsley. This comes after Gareth Southgate left the role after the Euro 2024 tournament. There isn't an English manager who has cleared the quarter finals of the Champions League, never mind one who won the league. Yet fans and pundits alike are going to have the gall to be offended by a German manager who actually has some level of pedigree? This whole "oh well we need someone who's British and knows the boys and how to handle the press" mentality is precisely the reason why England have won fuck all since the 60s. They never shortlist the top tier. Instead they've been more than happy with mediocrity throughout at least the past decade. Might as well just bring in Tony Pulis at this rate. A club absolutely oozing talent being handed over to managers with alarmingly short resumes on the honours front. Joke.

England has gotten there power up with Thomas Tuchel. Amazing team, Patriotic and ambitious fans and now a manager that has experience in knockout games and has good history. England will be a competetor for any tournament.

Tuchel is very good at getting a lot out of a team he just started coaching, specially in tournaments. At Chelsea he got them to several finals and won titles even though he wasn’t there for long. That’s a very good quality to have when coaching a national team with players you don’t get a lot of time with. I would be very optimistic if I was English and had Tuchel as the coach of the national team.

the ONLY english manager suitable is eddie howe, who i do think would’ve done a great job, however he seems pretty comfortable at newcastle and i’d rather bring in a good manager, like tuchel, now than be sat around waiting. great appointment

Would have preferred Klopp, but guess he doesn't want the pressure right now.
Problem with Tunchel is he won't get time with these players and i think he'll struggle to implement his vision for the team.
Two years we'll see what he does.
