Seth Feider Reviews the VMC Crossover Pliers and Ring

Suppose you're into fishing bass with soft plastics. How would you like to switch from wacky rigging to Neko rigging in seconds without retying? You're in luck! Seth Feider provides an overview of the innovative VMC Crossover Pliers and Crossover Ring, both designed to be used in unison and allow fast switching between wacky and Neko rigging without retying.

TACKLE USED:

While standard automotive-style o-rings work, they have some drawbacks. First off, the slim design tends to cut plastics in half under pressure. A thin profile also means limited contact with the bait for a less secure overall fit. Secondly, while an o-ring supports Neko rigging, it's not optimal for keeping your hook in a perpendicular orientation when wacky rigging.

Looks like it works much better than the O-rings.
Thanks W2F for the Wonderful Information.

O-rings come in all sorts of sizes. Crossing 2 o-rings and straddling the crossing point with your hook will keep your hook perpendicular to the bait. Heat scrink tubing also works very well. Just throwing it out there.

Couldn't you put the crossover on with some needle nose pliers?

O-rings are not one size fits all, they come in several sizes (common sizes are 5mm, 6mm, 7mm). You can *easily* use O-rings and have your hook perpendicular to your worm. Just use two O-rings, cross them over, and put your hook under where they cross (you don't need to put the hook into the worm at all). The VMC Crossover's are about $7.50 CAN for a 10-pack. O-rings are less than $2 for a 100-pack on Temu. As for these VMC pliers at $21 cad, just got to a hardware store and buy snap ring pliers, they'll do the same job and cost you 1/3 as much.

You don't need the pliers if you have a set of snap ring pliers

Much too expensive. $5 TO 10 FOR ONE LITTLE ORING. THEY SHOULD NO COST MORE THAN A DOLLAR EACH. I will stick to the oring, with shrink tubing on it. The shrink tube is extremely tough. It will last all day.
