Finally got mine assembled and it works. Wanted to update my thoughts on "no antenna". I believe like many pocket radios that don't have a speaker and require earbuds, the wire connecting the earbuds acts as the antenna.

I recently purchased this kit, wish I had known that you had instructions, although it was fairly straight forward. It does work amazingly. I believe the blue led indicates power, the red one shows charging and then green when fully charged. Mine came with 2 blue leds, so I swapped one out with a green and now it's good to go. Thank you for the upload.

So, I was looking at these on eBay and the Gs1299 integrated circuit is in the title. The Gs1299 is also shown on the PCB board. But I don't see any ICs or IC sockets in the kit. So, my question: is the Gs1299 IC contained within the PCB?
I was interested in this kit, for the sake of experimenting and modifying the kit. I was interested to see if I can modify the circuit to tune into higher frequency bands (air band). However, if the board contains ICs, I'm not interested in it.

Do you have a picture of the component layout I can use as a reference? It seems like there are more component locations than parts supplied.
