Hi! really busy with class rn haha, but jay posted this snippet a while back and decided to take a crack at it tonight to destress (and to figure out how animating him with a beard will be like)(very painful)

This is the only time I ever gave them faces and its just because they die in 30 seconds HAHA

fun odyssey fact: a lot of the suitors are Telemachus' age or maybe a little bit older because they're essentially the noblemen left after Odysseus and his men went to war. So these were the children born after or the kids who weren't old enough to fight (or the elderly who were too old I guess?) (barring some visitors from other countries, whose age range vary)

So when he does kill the suitors, the very angry fathers and uncles and whatnot form a mob to seek vengeance before athena gives him plot armor and decides that maybe its time he stops dealing with the consequences of his actions

I really like how the first guy kinda looks like a younger Odysseus, it feels symbolic of how, before, Odysseus has been the one to fight the boss battles, but now HE'S the boss battle, y'know? I dont know if it was intentional but i really like that representation of the role reversal here

I love the people’s expressions in this animatic. Especially the small drops of sweat. It shows how scared, off guard, unready and nervous they are because of the king.
Also, the mysterious character showing up, and striking that killer smile in the end is the icing on the cake.

I literally yelled out loud at this line! And god, the way you animated his expression while saying it - the look of someone who's THIS close to having his family back, and doesn't care what he has to do to make it so. To be fair, couldn't have happened to nicer people. That killer smile....

I really like the fact that in this song we clearly see the transformation of Odysseus, from a mercyful person to a rough "monster", and that here it is especially well drawn, we see in his eyes that he's just had enough and like Poseidon he's got "no mercy left to give"

First of all, I love how badass odysseus is in this one. Like he has done the journey HE IS DONE and like okay imma fight these mfs, ain't nothing holding me back. And the way you drew this is amazing! I especially love the part at 0:12, where the one suitor pushes the toher against the column like: Pull yourself together man! Stay focused! So amazingly done I'm just ahhhh

OKELDMEDOWNFIE, Odysseus smile with the hitting line, jut hits harder, he looks so menacing, and he’s doing barely anything, these poor suitors, they have no idea what they’re into, or maybe they know.
It’s amazing to see Odysseus fighting against humans, it makes us see the perspective of how much he’s been into, Odysseus is a monster that was created after fighting against monsters and Gods.
