I know "Stu" is an actor, but I'm still crying over the "loss" of his dear friend "Bob."

That last woman was sooo sweet. She made me cry! I love how she sat with him, hugged and comforted him in his time of need. People like her is what makes our world a better place to live in.

When hearing “life is very short” from an elderly person it hits different no matter how many times I’ve heard it before or from whom 😭

This gentleman deserves an Oscar. Probably the only actor that made cry

I was raised between two cultures: Japanese and Native American. Respecting and helping our Elders is such a huge part of both cultures. I was terrified of talking to anyone when I was little. But, my mom just wouldn't have any of it. So, I would have been at Stu's table immediately, talked his ear off, taken his number and address so I could drop of food and "visit" with him and washed his car. Maybe that's why my house is a mess!

This might actually be very sweet. I get sad whenever old people feel alone.

I was there... I didn't help the old man eating alone, he helped me. Not at a restaurant, but at a park near my house.
I'm 30 and live in Germany and back in corona times, I was on unpaid leave for over half a year, my girlfriend lost her job, she had to go back live with her parents. My mother was in hospital and I couldn't fly back home because of the restrictions... I started heavily drinking. In an effort to control my drinking, I would walk in the park near where I live and then sit on a bench, alone and watch the river. Contemplating. An elderly man greeted me everytime he saw me and one time, he sat down next to me and we started talking.
Guy was 97 years old and a WWII veteran. He was also alone, his wife had died, buried a son, only family he had was his daughter, living in Spain. So we hung out and it was tremendous. He was a very kind, generous and intelligent man. He really had seen it all. Yet, he still had a smile on his face and a desire for life. I learned some stuff about life from that old vet. We had even invited each other a few times during corona, back when "social gatherings" were forbidden. He told me war stories, how Germany was rebuilt after the war, etc. I mostly told him about tech news and the history of Bulgaria, my home country. Sadly I haven't heard anything of him since late 2021.
I learned from neighbors he had been admitted into an old folks home, but that's it. No address, no details.

So Sgt. H.Kessler, thank you for the good conversations and I hope you found peace! You helped me in my time of need, even when you were almost 100 years old!

This elderly lady at the end, such a warm-hearted person with so much knowledge and great advice. She is so kind and sweet. Her generosity made me emotional. God bless her.

The last woman made me cry. Those were the words I wanted to hear. I lost my grandfather on may 15 2022, and it made my whole life turn upside down, I still have my parents, siblings and friends but when he left it felt different and I feel my heart shatter into pieces everytime I think about him.

I'm in tears .... I know what it feels like to be alone. I would never wish that on anyone. May everyone be surrounded by Friends & Family.
