Boasting the top-rated emergency medicine training program in Florida (Doximity, 2020) and one of the top programs in the South, the University of Florida Department of Emergency Medicine in Jacksonville, Florida, offers a challenging emergency medicine residency program at a busy metropolitan academic health center with a Level I trauma center. Our program forges exceptional emergency medicine physicians capable of excelling in any clinical environment and prepared to assume leadership roles in their future practice.
Our three-year program is accredited through the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. The program began in 1975 and has an outstanding reputation as a strong clinical program with an impressive array of pathology, with abundant academic and research opportunities.
The UF Health Jacksonville Emergency Room has 69 beds, including five bays in the Level I trauma center and an 11-bed pediatric emergency department. Our residents and fellows hail from many locations throughout the United States. Likewise, we boast a very diverse faculty with a broad range of experience and expertise.
