I ended up buying the Denon X4700H to replace my older Denon THX AVR and it’s the worst thing I’ve ever done.Every time I turn this thing on something different happens.I’ve had home cinemas Many different AVRs and this one is driving me mad.I turn it on and the Apple TV comes on and my 4K BluRay also comes on.Sometimes I get Dolby Atmos some times Other sound formats and sometimes not.It’s an absolute nightmare.I just watched a video of a guy who’s having the same problems.70 comments of people that are experiencing the same switching conflicts.
I suggest you live with this Denon for a few weeks and see how you feel.I never had these problems with my older more powerful THX Denon.These recent models are a load of junk.

Will i need this for a playstation 5 or do i just plug it into the hdmi 2.1 port of my tv anyway?

I was very disappointed to find out that even with the new models, still a 6-meter speaker to speaker distance adjustment exists... I have a very large living room with 8 meters difference between speakers relative to the sitting position, and I just can't get Audyssey to work because distance settings maxing out. No such problem with Onkyo and Yamaha receivers...

All that technology yet can't control Zone 2 from Alexa still. Pretty big fail there. I bought an x8500h for the 3 zones thinking I would be able to have a DOT in each room. Yet, I can only control Zone 1 from voice. When is HEOS going to allow individual zone control from Alexa? Anyone looking for mulitroom voice control be aware and maybe look at other brands as it doesn't seem like HEOS is getting fixed.
