1: First Login into your cPanel account.

2: After login in cpanel account select Directory Privacy.

4: Scroll down in Create User section specify the username and the password that should be used to access this directory.

5: Click on save, your username and password successfully save.

6: Click on Go Back and Enter the Directory name which you want to protect and Put check mark on Checkbox.

7: Click on Save.

In this way you can set cpanel directory password protection.

8: In our example we've set protection for Public_html directory, so that authentication pop-up window will comes up.
