Bethesda has recently been making games easier for players despite nobody wanting it. For instance, the Fallout 4 perk system was too simple.

I dont know. If it was downloaded by 300K it doesnt mean that the other 10 m will like it.

Ok but I don’t want to have to carry around six different 8lb suits when that space could go to more iron even though I already have over six thousand

Starfield needed more time in the oven...

Anyone that actually plays NMS knows that most of the game is warping and fast travel after 40 hours or so. Bethesda just cut out the boring. Yes it feels limited but most of my NMS game play is watching a timer count down so i can land.

What pushed me over to loving fallout was the radio, it was fun exploring the wasteland listening to 1940-50’s music.

It existed in skyrim, and 90% of players fucking hated it and never used it. This isnt the point you think it is. Just because it exists doesnt mean everyone likes it or uses it.

Half true, but the hard-core survival "make sure you have the right clothes on so you don't die" was probably the worst example you could have used

Its a damned if they do damned if they dont thing. If they did make it harder like itended the content creators would say its to hard and now without it they say its to easy. Honestly should have made it an optional thing like hardcore in new Vegas

Ah yes a game that needs to be played 8 hours before you can have fun 😂

You would have to fix the planets before worrying about environmental mods. Outside of a mission, there is no reason to be on a planet. So sitting just to change suits and stare off into the distance does not sound fun.

😂 imagine they released space suit that can’t handle hypothermia

Well, I believe there should have been a lining at the lease (ie: a coolant liner for you suit on hot planets, a heating element for colder, etc). It’s a space suit, not a long term survival suit, ones for short excursions in low O2/ hazardous environments, the other is for basic survival on hostile locations for an extended period of time

Todd Howard has hinted that it can come back in the same interview

The funnest part of the game was when youre struggling at lower levels and having to carefully manage ammo and health resources as a few spacers were a challenge. That was so short though. By 10 hours i i was strolling through enemy bases killing entire armys.

I'm glad they did that, because it's just a hassle and not fun

I'd argue Bethesda do know what make the games fun and modders just want busy work.

Speak for yourself, buddy. Struggling for basic survival is hard enough in real life. I don't want that in games.

That doesn't make it fun for everyone. Only people that care about being super immersed

I feel Bethesda making it easier and less hyper realistic is better for the game overall and helps build a fan base of people enjoying the story and adventure aspects of their games. Just because a niche portion of the audience wants it harder does mean they should risk confusing people who are new to gaming. Examples are Pokemon, minecraft and as stated Skyrim, all games with different learning curves but have the opportunity for players to mod the games to increase the change for themselves. It's a lot to expect a game as large as starfield that was already getting bombarded with feature requests to make game modes that a limited player base will use. And if they want to do that later they can even patch a more challenging mode in, hell if they were desperate for money they could make us a 5 dollar dlc for atmospheric realism.
