Ya, the pure trap/“Floodgate” variant of the deck is definitely better, especially in a best of 1 format but I’m happy to see control decks getting more support and I’m looking forward to so many mirror matches.

This deck is super based but im really not excited for these cards to come out. Whilst ikea lab is super fun I struggle to believe that in a BO1 floodgate turbo won’t be better - we’ve seen it before with runick and eldlich, both of which had combo variants that saw little play, so I don’t see it being any different here. Admittedly this deck is better than cyberse/synchro Eldlich or the early runick synchro variants we saw pre-spright, but I don’t think the benefits of the furniture cards outweigh the auto-win ability floodgates have in a format without a sideboard. Between this and traptrix the ladder is going to be stun-heavy for a good few weeks and I’m not looking forward to it.

Personally I was always going to play this version but with a bigger Trap:Monster ratio. Stovie and Chandra are cool but I never saw a point in playing them at more than 2. And what's even the point of the Ishizus, especially at one? Why not Lord of the Heavenly Prison instead?

Excited to try this deck, I grew up on trap focused strategies in the older formats, so it will be nice to play an archetype that revolves around traps!

I’m hyped for both Labyrnth AND Traptrix as far as backrow decks. Dark World is what I’ve been impatiently waiting on since the anniversary packs though.

I personally don't like furniture lab because while, yes, it snowballs very quickly. You also go minus 2 (if you get negated) every time you activate a furniture card. It makes it so that going second is even harder for a trap deck since you might open multiple hand traps and not enough regular traps to play. I'm not a huge fan of the floodgate variant either but it's at least better than the furniture in my opinion.
