The thing I love most about ASIMO is her Japanese voice. Due to the fact I don't speak the language, she sounds like a real robot! If I could add one thing, it would be an 'idle' cycle, a series of slight movements ASIMO performs when no other tasks are being executed - an imitation at breathing, to make her just that little more alive. :)

Absolutely amazing!  I am awestruck, mesmerized and dumbfounded.  My heart is racing and my palms are sweaty!!! I had to watch the video a second time to be sure of what I saw.  I feel nervous and giddy like a child... Did anyone else notice how beautiful the girl in the orange pants is?  I think I am in love!!

I know this was from a year ago but there is no way to prove that any of the actions or movements are on the fly. I get that it is a robot moving and it is impressive that it talks but the movements were made by the robot first. Like shaking hands, the human moved towards its hand. Also, when there was the group of people on the stage, it was telling them the scenario to be in, not asking them to give a random emotion and it would register/ guess what it is. I want live, on the fly interaction. For all I/ we know, it is just pre-recorded lines between the human and robot, practiced over and over to make sure it is timed correctly in giving a response and visa versa...

That kinda smart humanoid will be helpful to people, but at another way i feel it's dangerous technology - if the robot would like to be emotive like a real person and to get its own personality.

Ok, nice, but can it vacuumclean the house, do the laundry, putting the garbage outside and do the dishes ? In short: How is this seemingly amazing yet mumbling and purposelessly waving and role-playing machine of any actual practical, physical use ?

Also, I think Honda's robotics division is stagnating. It's too bad; I was a big fan of Asimo.

I don't like what they did with asimo. From being an example of amazing robotic engineering they turned him into an electronic puppy to put in some useless context such as entertaining. For all the progress they made at this point I would've expected to see it used on the space station and not these garbage expo shows.
