Really wonderful, my friend. So nice how just moving the thirds like this is so effective. Little things are the thing

By accident I started practicing 3rds yesterday and it made me sound so much better. And now your video. Best teacher I could wish for. If I had just watched your video I would have started a week early :D

That maj 3rd interval Is such a great "anchor" while traversing thru the min 3rds. Great note. Great video!

Chris! This is super useful, congratulations. Both of the approaches, yours and Thomas', shed light on expanding vocabulary and taking our playing to the next level -at least of understanding. I was also taking the 10th between the bass and the soprano, man the applications are endless. A big thank you!

I like Joe Pass's solo guitar lessons, in there he talks about soloing on a major chord and mentions using the 5 woven into it. Makes me think of these alternating between 1 and 5s..

Chris, do you know which video you were playing a contrapuntal series of chords. It was very nice, but I can't remember!

Beautiful sounding concept! But, I’m surprised that no one’s commented on your uncharacteristically odd audio on this video.
Hard to listen to as your voice sounds quiet (mike off?) and just bleeding into your guitar track. Also, it sounds like there’s a limiter on the guitar that cuts out and allows much louder bursts of the guitar. 🤔 I hope this is helpful because normally your videos are nicely balanced. Thanks for your work on this channel, it’s really interesting!

It would be great if you could allow us to purchase a pdf of this (staff & tab)

It's wonderful that in all 4 of Barry's scales there are no parallel fifths! But in the major scale there are 2. Ascending melodic minor 1. Harmonic minor 1. Octatonic none.

thank you chris.. but as someone else noted, theres some weird compression effect going on with audio.

Great video, thank you. Can I ask, is your foot sitting on a volume pedal? The swell at the end of some of the lines is a bit painful for studying with headphones.

Knowing the Cm6 in sixths! Well, there's February's practice schedule. 😉 BTW, Odd bit of compression on the recording? Maybe too close to the amp?? Just saying.

Very cool, excited to practice this. One thing I haven't heard said by Barry people but I'm wondering about - Couldn't the Cm6 diminished be used on an Eb major if it is the IV of a key and you wanted to hit that #11? Same way you'd use a Eb6 on a Cm7. Thomas had that video on "Lydian" sounds really being about borrowing from the 6 on the 5, but it seems like the relative minor 6 would be another way to get there.

Can u do a video explaining how we create the dom7#9 using 2 notes from min6 and 2 notes of diminished. I can’t seem to find the notes on the fretboard :(

Nice lesson. Not sure what’s going on with the audio. It’s either a bad connection or some kind of automatic gain control or misadjusted expander. There are random level jumps and the voice seems low. But otherwise great content.
