Thanks for posting all this. Lovely narration and graphics. Have had a subscription for many years and continue to enjoy the magazine.

But normally, the magazines accumulate and I take them on holiday with me to digest properly. Fascinating stuff. Thank you.

Educate us! I've been observing the early morning sky 4 to 5 AM from Michigan. It helps if you tell us where to look directionally. Also, how is the sky different in the early AM. Where are the planets, etc. in the evening vs morning.

In India you can see Jupiter and Saturn in the South Eastern sky right after sunset and then they orbit through the southern sky to south western sky until 11pm I guess.
Also Big dipper can be seen in the North western sky around the same time as above.
Mars rises around 9:15pm in the Eastern(a little towards north) sky and dominates the entire night sky as the time passes by.
Orion's belt rises in the Eastern sky around 2:30am and Betelgeuse rises just after a few minutes.

I see this orange planet in the west northwest but it sparkles blues and green? What is that?

This channel is so encouraging for beginners. I have some very good birdwatching bins but hopefully will invest in a telescope soon. This is just so fascinating :)

I see very little when I look up into the night's sky here in LA. Ancient people 4, 000 years ago knew more about the stars in the sky than we know from casual observation. Thanks for posting.

I had a night of little sleep a couple of weeks ago, so I got up and dragged my telescope outside to see it and photograph it. Very cool. And as a new telescope user at age 54, I have been very blessed to have Jupiter and Saturn hanging out with us for so long this summer. My best seeing is to the south, so it has been great for me.

Earlier in the month I looked up at the sky and saw something bright and with a hint of red, just to the left of the Moon and realised it was Mars. It was a fine sight right next to the Moon.

I”m looking south west around 9pm on 6th September in UK. I can see a large star or planet with a much smaller star to the left. The larger one isn’t red or salmon coloured which is typical of Mars. It doesn’t appear round to my eyes either? It is a typical star shape. I am a bit confused as I’ve seen Mars in the past looking typically pink. Can anyone enlighten me.

Thank you for uploading this great video. This is so cool.
8:38 I want to know why Jupiter looks bigger than Saturn🤔

Great! I captured Mars, Saturn and Jupiter in the past couple of weeks using my Celestron 127 EQ powerseeker telescope with a digiscope adapter for my phone.

My son and I saw Mercury. We were getting back to land after sailing his boat. The sky had a thin layer of cloud. Mercury was transiting the very low setting sun, and looked like maybe a hot air balloon at first. It was an extremely rare opportunity.
