Hey Zeke, as somsone who has a home in Gold Mountain, truly appreciate your correction this morning. I found your video really informative the other day and also appreciate you correcting the messaging to update to the latest info. Will look forward to continued info from your videos.

As a Portola resident, thank you for all your videos, a wealth of information and being a good teacher. I was turned on to your channel during Dixie. Best to you, you're a good man (on this error). Thanks again, the videos often calm the locals when a fire is or feels like it is coming down on us.

We all eat humble pie. Your passion for your science is what makes your broadcasts so relatable. On today’s live I now know far more about the great work our neighbors at Gold Mountain are doing for fire prevention in eastern Plumas County. Way to own it and move FW.

Zeke you have done an amazing job the last few years of explaining, teaching, and giving FACTS! The city folks move up into the middle of the dence forest, don't want to kill a tree, and build million dollar homes without thinking about fire season :( You also showed a couple of other development areas and explained "WHY" fires are so big. You spoke in facts!! Vacant lots, not enough water support, the roads.... It is nice GM is working on things but as commented below they can not get insurance. I do not agree with clear-cutting but better management of the forest will take time to fix. I appreciate all you put into fire season. I do not want the sugar-coated version. I want facts!!! Thank you for providing facts, being you, and another great video!

I really enjoy your insight into fighting fires. In this political climate anyone is offended, so it won’t be the first nor the last time someone complains about your opinions. Keep up the great work!

My wife's Grandfather used to say " The only people who don't make mistakes are people who don't do anything" You made a mistake by your own admission and you are trying to correct this error. Lesson learned is a true learning experience Keep up the good work..

The concept of "socializing the risk" is a good one. Perhaps establishing quantifiable protocols might be a step in this direction...

A big part of the problem in Oregon is the lack of resources, firefighters and equipment. Very shortsighted on the part of the politicians and management. It is obvious that things are getting hotter and dryer on top of the normal dry season, which is getting longer and dryer. Very frustrating seeing what is happening here.

Goldhill need not be concerned . I'm sure criticism is taken with a grain of salt to this channel's ears. It's great to hear their response both quick and to the point. However it was a great story to tell reflecting land management issues. Goldhills firewise measures were a wonderful retort. Me=hoa and voluntary firewise community just starting this year...the seeds of.

And we continue to put out 95% of the fires and keep them small during the years that allow us to do that. So that in the years that the conditions exist ie. drought, hot, dry, windy wildfires become like a volcano…unstoppable no matter how many resources you throw at them until a break in the weather makes it favorable to stop them ie. less hot and dry and windy and moisture coming.

You still can't get fire insurance in Gold Mountain...

Apparently I need to be educated on why the aircraft can’t be loaded and ready to go on the runway at the break of light instead of waiting until 10 or 12 o’clock in the morning like they did the campfire and like they’re doing on the mill fire ???
