CICS Content Delivery Server Overview

This is a short introduction to CICS Content Delivery Server, a software product from Matter of Fact Software.
The software enables the easy creation, management and serving or novel CICS Web Applications.
The main functions of the software are demonstrated including: Directory; Editor; Binary Upload and Bulk record management processes.
Some example applications built into the product are shown to provide some insight into the power of the software. This is concluded with a demonstration of a modern take on the FILEA application that is provided with CICS by IBM. VSAM data is accessed, updated, deleted, added etc, and the sample Cobol program used to access the data is shown. The Cobol program accepts formfield data sent to it when it is called and reacts according to that input. In this case, it reads, browses, updates and deletes records from the FILEA VSAM file defined to CICS and responds to the calling web browser with JSON data.
