Space Jam 1 VS Space Jam 2

It has been about 25 years but a sequel to the 1997 Space Jam movie starring Michael Jordon Space Jam 2 A New Legacy has finally been made and released. In Space Jam 2 we have LeBron James as the main character of the movie. But how does Space Jam 2 A New Legacy compare to the beloved, original Space Jam film?

I respectfully disagree I think the original Space Jam is way better than the sequel/reboot. Space Jam A new legacy is not without merit like the ones you mentioned but the original had Bill Murray and is more entertaining.

I disagree, even tho the first Space Jam wasn’t amazing it still has a cram to it while Space Jam A New Legacy felt more like 2 hour HBO Max commercial

I rewatched the original in preparation for the sequel as well. I have a lot of nostalgia for it as well, but it didn’t make the original movie better. The human side really made no sense, but it had entertainment value once the big game started. They might as well have just been more honest and titled the sequel “SIGN UP FOR HBO MAX RIGHT NOW!!!” I loathed my experience watching it, and while the original was flawed, there was still a charm to it.

I love both Space Jam movies, sure they aren't perfect but they are good and solid movies that can admire their animation and funny aspects and tone, all in all I give both movies a 6 or 7 out of 10 I will always respect both Basketball Players to try acting and making expressions while the Looney Tunes and the crossover events putting a smile on my face, it might still be a cash cow and could have been better, they are still enjoyable and watchable movies that can be watched from time to time.

I've been looking forward to see this Versus video between the first Space Jam and the second Space Jam. I like both of the these movies and watching them seeing the looney tunes makes me feel like a kid again and brought back memories. In terms of the soundtrack I'm gonna go with the first movie and it terms of the audience watching the basketball game I'm gonna go with the second movie because seeing characters from other Warner Brothers properties like Scooby Doo, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Iron Giant, King Kong, Pennywise, The Mask, Dorothy(The Wizard of Oz), Space Ghost and many others really puts a smile on my face. And yes the Rick and Morty cameo really shocked me I wasn't expecting to see them but they're Warner Brothers characters. I would give Space Jam 2 credit for being different while keeping spirit with the original Space Jam. Out of all the movies of 2021 this was the film I was super looking forward to see. I'm glad to see someone FINALLY give Space Jam 2 a fair criticize. Both movies are very weird and have a lot of flaws, but I agree with you that A New Legacy had a better story. There is nothing new in it, but I think it had a good message for all families.
However, I personally felt that the characterizations of the Looney Tunes were more faithful to the classic shorts in the sequel than the original. Even in the original, the Tunes were charming, but I felt that many of the things they said and did were out-of-character. But that's just my opinion. Thanks for the great review!

Space Jam 1 is the highest grossing basketball movie of all time. And that's without social media and all the current global marketing strategies that are available today. Lebron just can't win in the overall eyes of the public.
