Is The Yi Ling Worth Taming?

1:39 To change feathers, you need to feed it different things. For example, poison is nameless venom. Sedate is biotoxin (its immune to the effects of biotoxin, so dw, and no, narcotics can not be used as a substitute). Slime is Sap. And finally, Volatile is Condensed Gas Ball.

Each item only needs to be consumed(?) once by the Yi Ling and those other types of feathers will be able to be used for a certain amount of time. However, im not certain how long the timer is. I assumed 5 to 10 minutes, but then i transmitted my Yi Ling to the island, and now it states the time and gives me access to all feather types by simply having the items in the inventory despite needing to feed it back when it was on aberration not even 10 minutes ago.

Once you fill the bar enough, you will be able to aim at your target and use rupture. Each different feather type does different things.

Sedate: rupture and cause torpidity.
Poison: rupture and deal DoT damage.
Slime: rupture and slow.
Volatile: rupture and shred, aka i assume increase damage taken or disable healing.

These effects can indeed be stacked! I have tested. This includes ALL effects if you can fit them.

Yi ling is the perfect example whats wrong with some people of the community, not every new creatire has to be a shadowmane broken killer giga creature, yi ling seems balance at his main pirpuse is being a glass canon dog fighter, but people expected to be a rock drake destroyer

They actually glide quite fast and have a dive, but you had the toggle fire mode active. You have to disable the fire feather mode to fully utilize its speed in gliding.

I wish they'd stop adding precise timing taming methods on a game that's lagged like nobody's business for a near solid decade I miss the plain old knock out early tames

While people didn't want this, I knew it would be more of an early game tame, and tbh, I think it does that well

This a really good travel mount and the damage they can dish out is crazy, the fact that you can all also tame creatures with its sedative feathers is even better as it saves resources

It almost looks like it was supposed to have a higher vertical leap like a managarmr but was removed because it'd have been too similar.

Personally, I love it. I didn't exactly care what worked with the vote as not many options were good other than the big scary spider. But man utility wise, it's moreso dependent on whether you're riding it or not. Riding? Use it as a travel mount. Unless you're a god at attacking with it you're probably gonna miss out on a lot of dps and opportunities, unmounted, get a pack of them, set em on follow, and attack whatever you want and they'll efficiently deal with them

You should be able to dash at least 3 times or dash infinitely with a cooldown on how soon you can do it again while in air. This thing should almost be able to fly esp since the climbing is nerfed heavily.

Wondering if u get melee high enuff and keep on by a trap if theyre worth knocking things out with the sedate function

Change feather is hold R and you have to feed it different things (narcotic, gas balls, and etc)

Honestly, after what wildcard did to the rock drake visually, I’d rather take on Alpha Rockwell with a Yi Ling army any day.
