i have good strafing and timing but i cant get over 220 velocity. Am i doing something wrong or i just need much practice?

you move your mouse like controller player slightly touch the analog .its ultra hard to do this. i dont understand the logic behind it ... i can jump 2-3 times 175 after an hour of try.
