My stressful final year of my undergraduate degree (including the 7000 word dissertation / research project) of uni is finally over now - and to celebrate, what better thing to do than a short trip to the lovely capital of Denmark: Copenhegan!
A trip to Copenhagen for transport enthusiasts like myself can't be a trip without riding the awesome metro system and filming, at the front, the entire journey of the M1 metro line - an absolute classic! And to make it special for you sunset lovers, this was filmed at 20:00 / 8PM on a warm spring day - the beauty of Scandinavian countries in a nutshell :)
The M1 metro line is coloured green on the map, and connects Vestamager with Vanløse via the City Centre. The line has 15 stations, of which are as follows:
1. Vestamager 00:05
2. Ørestad 01:35
3. Bella Center 03:02
4. Sundby 04:30
5. DR Byen 06:18
6. Islands Brygge 07:48
7. Christianshavn 09:33
8. Kongens Nytorv 11:05
9. Nørreport 12:36
10. Forum 14:22
11. Frederiksberg 16:22
12. Fasanvej 17:34
13. Lindevang 18:57
14. Flintholm 20:30
15. Vanløse 21:45
My opinion: 8/10. A great metro system, with a journey through the beautiful and modern area of Ørestad - a sustainable transit oriented development (TOD)! The metro trains are also really nice too, but the only disadvantage is that they are only 3 carriages long for a rather busy system - I guess the very high frequencies of every 1-2 minutes during rush hours do compensate for the small amount of carriages.
The M1 shares with the M2 (yellow line to Copenhagen Airport, which I also filmed and will be uploaded soon) between Christianshavn and Vanløse.
