'If Delhi Can Walk This Journey Of Transformation So Can Other Cities | Atishi Marlena At The UNGA

AAP leader Atishi Marlena addresses the ‘World Assembly of Local & Regional Govts’ in the United Nations High-level Meeting on the implementation of the new urban agenda. In her address, she speaks of the challenges that every country is facing. She says, "The urban world of the 21st century offers humanity two unique opportunities - the power of sustainable and integrated urban development and benefits of multilevel & cooperative action."

Further in her address she talks about the Delhi model that transformed the city and says, "In 2020, Delhi had the lowest electricity tariffs & we ensured 24/7 power supply. 4 million households in Delhi get zero electricity bill. Now, 80% of the city gets piped water & has better sewerage lines. 2 million students have shifted from private schools to public schools. Delhi is the only regional sub national government in India hat doesn't have a fiscal deficit." This happened because of the 'political will of an honest govt combined with well designed policies an efficient policy delivery mechanism' Atishi adds in her address.
