Acropolis Lights | Audiovisual Launch Event

In a time filled with darkness, all we can do is seek out the light.
On Wednesday, September 30, the new lighting of the Acropolis was presented with a unique audiovisual event. The contribution and implementation of the project was done by the Onassis Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and Eleftheria Deko, breathing new life into the marbles on the Acropolis.

Σε μία περίοδο γεμάτη σκοτάδι, δεν μπορούμε παρά να βλέπουμε το φως.
Την Τετάρτη, 30 Σεπτεμβρίου, παρουσιάστηκε ο νέος φωτισμός της Ακρόπολης, με ένα μοναδικό οπτικοακουστικό event. Το έργο αποτελεί δωρεά και υλοποίηση του Ιδρύματος Ωνάση, σε συνεργασία με το Υπουργείο Πολιτισμού και Αθλητισμού και την Ελευθερία Ντεκώ, δίνοντας νέα πνοή στα μάρμαρα του Ιερού Βράχου.

If this show went on every night or at least once a week, it would be a huge deal both for Athenians and tourists. The folks at the ministry of culture should consider this.

Stunning! This light colour temperature reveals the true colour of the marble rock. The old lighting was turning everything almost golden-like.

The Parthenon is THE most exquisite, beautiful, and majestic building, monument in the world bar none! As well as the Acropolis. There is no other monumental site more beautiful than this. I've seen it several times and it takes your breath away! The beauty of this painfully exquisite temple is simply unbelievable. I last saw it when restoration began and now I see that the cranes are gone and the restoration is almost complete. I would love to see it again before I die, but if not, I am privileged to have seen it, to have sat by the steps of it (only for a moment for a photo), to walk around it, and simply bask in its beauty. I pray that the Greek government will continue to protect it, it MUST protects its patrimony. So, so beautiful!
