Well, it's a change in format. I usually teach to the camera and all of you, but I think this is a unique chance to document a real learning experience. I thank Natasha for being brave enough to share her experience with teachers and learners everywhere. :)

Agreed! Telling time in a foreign language can be confusing. Many Americans aren't used to a 24-hour clock, except maybe those in the military. I was a young girl when I pressed the wrong combination of buttons on my digital watch. It changed from 12-hours to 24-hours. I couldn't figure out how to get it back, so I learned to read 24-hr time very well! That helped when I began to live in Russia. Reading the TV schedule was easy.

I'm glad the videos can help you tutor your sister. 12:00 am is midnight. After 12:00 am comes 1 a.m. Be careful. 12:00 p.m. is noon. That's the middle of the day. 1 p.m. = 13:00. Understand? Best wishes to you both!

It's a great topic, though quite a broad one! I'll note it for the future. I can't post URLs here, but do a Google search for "esl prefixes and suffixes exercises" and you'll see some interesting resources to explore. You can post more questions on the community forum on my website. Good luck!

Yes, a lesson on word forms and word families would be helpful. I touched upon this briefly in Lesson 19 of my English Vocabulary playlist.

It's common to talk about the anniversary of certain events. In your example, you might say, "Do you remember the war in Afghanistan 10 years ago?" / "Do you remember what happened on this day 10 years ago?" / "It was this month ten years ago that the war started. Do you remember?"
Hope that helps.

Right you are! :) But for beginners, it's easiest to explain AM = in the morning / PM = in the afternoon/ evening.
Have a great day!

No such lesson on my channel yet, but you can search other English language channels. I think a learner's dictionary would give you a clear explanation. Try Longman or Oxford online.

Hi Jennifer. I'm Bally, an English teacher, from Bangkok, Thailand. To be honest, I really find this online lesson fantastic and easy to understand and I also use your video for my private class too. Excellent. Keep it up!

No, Natasha is not a zero beginner. She's a woman who understands a lot more than she can produce. She's also challenged by having to place family obligations before her studies, so we cannot meet as often or as regularly as we'd like. Our journey is uphill, but she has come a long way from learning the alphabet (different from her native language) and introducing herself. :)
