The Death of Hollywood Awards

The Oscars, the Grammys, the Golden Globes, the Emmys... the entire cabal of Hollywood elitist awards ceremonies are falling apart, and the real reasons why are far more ingrained than what the media will ever acknowledge.

The pandemic has exposed how disconnected Hollywood culture has become, and I for one am not very sad about it.

Here's a story about an Old School Celebrity and all-around nice guy that didn't get too much coverage. Dick Van Dyke, a 96 year old man, recently drove to the market, got some groceries, then went to the bank, withdrew some money, then went across the street to the local Unemployment Offices, and starting handing out said money to folks that had lost their jobs because of the Pandemic. Too bad most Celebrities can't figure out that being seen doing something isn't as important as actually doing something.

It's like that chapter in World War Z about how celebrities at the start of the outbreak were so concerned about their publicity rather than survival that they all went into this lavish mansion and were broadcasting their lives thinking people would watch them and be given hope. Instead, their "fans" figured out where the mansion was and assaulted it in search of fortification and supplies.
